Costcutter’s ‘Bringing Summer Home’ campaign is star player

This summer was a record breaker in more ways than just the football and weather. Costcutter Supermarket Group has revealed its ‘Bringing Summer Home’ campaign has been its most successful to date.

Featuring ranges perfect for gathering friends together, including beers and cider, crisps and snacks, burgers and grills and chilled prepared salads, the Group’s retailers were able to select their own ‘star players’ from the extensive promotional offers to suit their individual stores and shopper needs.

The lead beer deal – a 12 pack of Budweiser for £7.99 – saw an 89.8%* increase in sales value with 15,542 cases sold during the campaign, and beer and cider sales also enjoyed a 28% increase and a 35% increase in volume**.

Promoted through a range of marketing channels, the campaign delivered outstanding results, with 8.5K average weekly visits to the website and media advertising outperforming the industry standard click through rate 2.4 times over. Consumer leaflets generated a significant uplift in sales of the ‘front of leaflet’ lines and the national TV campaign delivered 21M impacts.

Jenny Leetch, Brand Manager, Costcutter Supermarkets Group said: “We’re delighted with the success of the campaign, which generated some real excitement amongst our retailers and their shoppers. The results speak for themselves and prove that by engaging shoppers with eye-catching promotions and interactive content, we can really help our retailers drive sales.”
